Analysis

The First Analysis show us the Driver Race Pace for all the laps when the flag was Green(i.e Track Status was 1). The filter below it provides us the legend for drivers.

Here we plotted Drivers on the x-axis and Lap Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we made a box plot with the median of all Lap Times and Sorted it according to the Median.

We can see that Verstappen had the fastest Pace foloowed by Hamilton, then Norris and then Albon.We are starting to see some changes in Mclaren and Williams are still performing good just hoping bad luck dont strike them and their car's break down like in the last race.

Results

The second Analysis show us the fastest laps of all drivers and the gap and the positions are decided as the minimum lap time being on top and the least in the bottom.

Delta Time

The third Analysis is Delta Time Analysis for the fastest laps of Alonso, Hamilton, Leclerc, Verstappen and Perez. Verstappen had the fastest time out of all hence he is taken as the 0 line value and all the others lines are the gap at that specific distance from Verstappen's time. The Lines are colored according to Driver their legend is below the anlysis only.

Team Race Pace Comparison

The Fourth Analysis show us the Team Race Pace for all the laps when the flag was Green(i.e Track Status was 1). The filter below it provides us the legend for Teams.

Here we plotted Teams on the x-axis and Lap Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we made a box plot with the median of all Lap Times and Sorted it according to the Median.

Red Bull Racing had the fastest race pace followed by Mercedes than Mclaren. And the worst Race pace is shown by Aston Martin, and Hass Team. Hass performed so well in first 2 races but came back to the last of the grid for FP1 and Aston Martin had 2 podiums in the last 2 races but still had the worst race pace maybe they were checking some new parts, or collecting data or maybe their car design is not suitable for the hard braking parts of Australian GP.

Analysis

We can see that Verstappen and Alonso had the best race pace here followed by Ocon And Leclerc. The MClaren Drivers are in the 6 or 7th Position showing good signs for Mclaren. The worst Race Pace was shown by Tsunoda and Magnussen. Again following the trend of last two races that alpha tauri is having the worst race pace and Hass is foloowing the FP1 trend again as Magnussen had the second worse race pace.

Results

We can see that Hass, Alpha Tauri had the worst race pace out of all teams this shows that Hass is struggling here and alpha tauri is following the same trend from last 2 races of being the worst car on the grid this season.

Analysis

Here we plotted Drivers on the x-axis and Lap Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we made a box plot with the median of all Lap Times and Sorted it according to the Median.

We can see that Gasly had the best race pace here then followed by Alonso, Albon and Stroll. Gasly has been showing great race pace from the last 2 practices leading us to believe that he will perform good in Qualifying and Race. The worst race pace is shown by Norris although is team mate is in the middle part of the grid according to his race pace. And as Mclaren was performing good in the last 2 practices maybe Norris just drove some light laps. Other than Norris even Russell had bad race pace. But Hamilton is in the middle part of grid hence maybe just like Norris Russell wasnt able to get fast laps in Also Russel finished P4 as his fastest lap was enough to give him the fourth position so maybe Russell didnt pushed the car after getting a good lap time in.

We can see that Aston Martin, and Alpine are showing good race pace followed by williams and Red Bull racing. The worst race pace was shown by Mclaren followed by Afa Romeo and then Alpha Tauri a repertiting trend as of last 2 races.

Qualifying Sessions

In the Center we Have the results of Qualifying Sorted according to the positions with driver times, driver numbers and broadcast names.

We also have plotted the telemetry(Speed and RPM) for Perez crash in Q3. Also we plotted the track layout with track domination of VER and RUS fastest laps in the qualifying.

Also we showed the how track temperature and air temperature changed over time both got hotter first then got colder meaning drivers would have been struggling first but then were able to find more grip as qualifying went on.

We also plotted the cumlative delta Time of the Top 5 finishers fastest laps all over qualifying with respect to Ver and saw where did the others lost time.

Race Analysis

Driver Pace Analysis

Here we plotted Drivers on the x-axis and Lap Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we made a box plot with the median of all Lap Times and Sorted it according to the Median.

We can see that Verstappen had the fastest race pace followed by Sainz and then Perez. The worst race pace is shown by Albon but he crashed in Lap 8 Only and had to retire hence we will not take him in analysis. So the worst except albon are shown by Sargeant and De vries. So from this we can see that the Williams Rookie Driver Sargeant is struggling to perform. And ALpha Tauri Rookie Driver Nyck De Vries who is a Formula E champion too is not able to prove himself in Formula 1.

Top Speed With and Without DRS

The second Analysis is showing the top speed of drivers with DRS and without DRS. The Red Values are with DRS and the Yellow ones's are without it. From here, we can see that Perez and Ocon were the ones that reach the speed of 340 km/hr with DRS.

Position Changes Per Lap

The third Analysis is showing us how the position's changed as the race went on. And also it has a line where the Position Value goes to 0 (it is used to represent that the driver has retired due to any problem or crash).

Red Bull Racing The winners of last year constructors championship had the Fastest Race Pace, then it was followed by the Ferarri. The worst Race Pace was shown by williams and then alpha tauri.

Tyre Related Analysis

Weather Analysis

The First two analysis show us the how the track Temp and Air Temp Changed throughout the whole race.

The Air Temp first increased gradually till the halfpoint of the race and then started to decrease whereas the Track Temp decreased throughout the race and there was a brief point where it suddenly decreased and then again rose and then started decreasing gradually.

Track Temp decreasing gradually this means that as time went on the tyre grip was getting better leaving the part where track temp decreased suddenly.

Tyre Degeredation Analysis

The third analysis shows us the degeradation pattern of tyres as they go on being used how the lap times change. We can see here that the hard tyre was not better than the medium but for most of the race Hard tyre has been used as Medium graph is very small due to it's tyre life being less.

Tyre Strategy Analysis

The Fourth Analysis show us the tyre strategies of all Drivers for the whole race. It shows us what strategies did the drivers thought to do. Did anyone make an undercut or an overcut pitstop. What all strategies are used and much more.

Here we plotted Drivers on the x-axis and Lap Number on the y-axis. And then we made a circlular discrete plot with colors as Compound so that when the compound is changed the color of circle is also changed.

We can see that mostly all the drivers opted for first the medium compound and then the hard compound of tyre and the soft tyre at last as their strategy but some drivers also used soft first then hard or hard first then medium.

Some other Analysis

Best Possible Time Per Compound

The First Analysis show us the Best Possible Time Per Compound Possible.

Here we plotted Compounds on the x-axis and Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we took the minimum time per compound for each sector and added them to get the best possible time on that compound.

We can see that the Hard Compound shows the Best possible time followed by Soft Tyres and then Medium Tyres.

Delta Time Analysis

The second Analysis is the cumulative Delta Time Analysis for ALO, NOR, PER, STR, HAM and VER the top 6 finishers of the race all the delta Times are with respect to VER at a specific lap as VER is the '0' Value line because he finished the race in 1st position..

Fastest Lap Times Per Driver

The Third Analysis show us the fastest Lap Times Per Driver.

Here we plotted Drivers on the x-axis and Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we made the bar graph of all the fastest laps of each driver and colored it by Driver.

We can see that Perez had the fastest laps, then Verstappen. But they were not too far apart there was only a tenth of a second difference between their lap times.

Results Analysis

Position Changes and Points Classification

The First analysis Shows all the results with driver broadcast name, Start Position, Final Position and the points they earned for the race.

The Second Analysis show us the number of positions gained or lose from the start and at the end of the race by the drivers. Piastri gained the most positions out of all he gained 8 positions.

Race Restart Lap 57 Crashes

GAS vs OCO CrashAnalysis

The First Analysis Show us the crash between the two teammates OCO and GAS.

We have made the visualizations of their speed and RPM telemetries. So, how did this crash happened and that too between teamamtes.

So see that as race restarted their was no gap between the drivers and everyone wanted to gain as much as they can because only 1 lap was left after this lap. So, due to every driver being agressive Gasly went through the outside and joined the track back but he didnt noticed Ocon and as Ocon was right before him their tyres collided and they crashed into the wall.

SAI vs ALO Crash Analysis

The Second Analysis Show us the Crash between Sainz and Alonso.

So as we know that every driver was being agressive after the race Restart. Alonso and Sainz were also very agressive Alonso went more deep (to the outside) and as he came inside Sainx who was pushing himself touched Alonso's tyre leading to Alonso making a complete 180 degree spin. As you can see in the Analysis too at the point of crash Alonso's Speed suddenly became 0Km/hr while Sainz was still going. This Crash would have ruined Alonso's race as due to the 180 degree turned he lost many places from the second position but as GAS and OCO also crashed at the same time and some other drivers also collided the race again had a red flag and finished under the safety car where Alonso got his position back as the order behind the safety car was the order at start of Lap 57.

Other Crashes During Race

Albon lap 8 Crash Analysis

The Analysis Show us the speed and RPM telemetries of albon during his crash lap and the track layout during his crash.

The track layout helps us to understand on which turn did Albon made the mistake and crashed. As the track layout ends where Albon goes Off Track.

Also If teams would share there steering data we would have gotten a better idea that why did the crash happened did Albon Oversteered or understeered or went too fast in the turn.But as they are not readily available we can only use this to tell where did Albon went Off track and see his speed and RPM pattern to understand what may have gone down.

Legends: - Driver 1 is Verstappen and Driver 2 is Perez.

Other Crashes During Race (Part 2)

Lec Lap 1 Gravel Trap Crash Analysis

The First two Analysis(Red Colour ones) show us Leclerc's Crash in lap 1.

When the race started Lec actually locked up and went deep inside the gravel trap leading to his car getting stuck and he had to retire.

Mag Lap 53 Crash

The last two Analysis(white Colour one's) show us how Magnussen Crashed in lap 53.

Simply, Magnussen was pushing the car very much and he wasn't able to control the car while taking the turn exit his car slood a little too much leading to the BR(Back Right) tyre colliding with the wall and bursting. Due to which Magnussen had to retire.

Race Overtakes

Analysis

The First two visualizations show us the speed telemetry comparison between VER and HAM at Lap 12 and the track layout of Verstappen at Lap 12 and where he overtook HAM.

This Overtake showed how much fast and good Red Bull's Car is as Verstappen was already pressurizing Lewis without DRS but as he got the DRS. Lewis wasn't able to do anything other than sitting like a duck in his mercedes as Verstappen Overtook him On the Outside purely with speed when outside is not even the better race line on this path of the track.

The Last three visualizations show us the speed telemetry comparison between PER and PIA at lap 22 and Perez track layout at lap 22 showing where did the overtake happened and showing the Braking, Cornering and Throttle (State graph) of both the drivers at Lap 22.

Again this overtake was mostly similiar to the VER and HAM one through the outside at the same part of track with pure speed and the ironic thing is both the cars Mercedes and Mclaren use the Mercedes Power Unit which was the best in pure speed just 2 years back. This shows how much the new regulations affeted Mercedes pace. Also from the State Graph of the two drivers we can say that PIA was loosing his ground mostly on some corners as Perez was on full throttle faster than Piastri at some places.

Race Overtakes Continued

Analysis

The first three visulizations show us the Battle between HUL and NOR where NOR emerged the victor at lap 52 when he overtook HUL.

This fight was very great as Norris tried to overtake Hulkenberg a few turns before the final overtaking turn but Hulkenberg pushed his Hass trying to keep up with Norris and was able to challenge him. But due to pushing Norris he lost control as his car slid a bit too much leading to his rear tyre going on the gravel trap making him lose speed and ground against Norris and Norris overtook him.

The Last Analysis show us three way fight between RUS, GAS and STR on Lap 13 where RUS emerged the victor after a good fight between all the three cars.
