Results

We Found Some very Interesting happenings in the first practice of the season. Team Aston Martin was so fast that it was comparing to redbulls the winner of the last season and Aston Martin was one of the worst teams in the last Season.

Also as Fernando Alonso was just signed by Aston Martin it gave their fans hope that now Alonso can finally win a race again after so many years the whole F1 Social was going crazy as far as I remember seeing Aston Martin competing with RedBull.

Also one more insight was that Mercedes the team that was dominating before 2021 and the only team competing with Red Bull was strugling to even be in the middle grid of the competition. Also One more fact that Aston Martin Receive the same Power Unit as Mercedes but Still Their was so much difference in speed between the two teams.

Delta Time

This Delta Time Shows The Time Difference Between ALO and VER (Values For Ver) Kepping ALO values at 0.This Shows That VER was behind Alonso's Lap Time For The Most Time and he only improved in the last part of the circuit only.

This tells that Aston Martin can pose a threat to Red Bull as the season goes on and if this trend continues although one could give a argument that it is practice so the drivers are not giving their all and collecting data but that doesnt mean that RedBull is safe of any competition

And Also Everyone knows that Alonso is such a great driver that he literally lost a championship in 2012 season by only 2 points from the fastest car on the grid when he was driving a car that was 5th fastest on the grid.

Results

Mercedes were still strugling but put up a time for atleast 4th position. Alpha Tauri The Junior Team of Red Bull Doesnt have a good car this season literally they are performing as the worst team on the grid when the last year they were one of the middle teams.

Telemetry Comparison

This Comparison is between the fastest laps of VER and ALO in FP3. I have made two telemetry comparisons Speed and Gear.From this we can get to know where the drivers are underperforming in relation to each other.

This Proves Very great tool for drivers as they can get the info where they are losing time and can improve those areas.

ALso Drivers can compare themselves to their Team Mates as mostly all team mates have same cars so they can get the data of where they are losing from their teammate which setting their teammate used and much more to improve team performance overall.

Qualifying Sessions

In this we Have Compared the delta time of all drivers for their lap time and we can also see that Mercedes were struggling Still they finished 6th and 7th.

We also compared the fastest 2 drivers telemetry and found out who was dominating at a given area of the track.After diving the track into 25 minisectors and getting avg. speed of both drivers in those areas and comparing them.

Sprint and Races

“This is the analysis for the weather and tyre degredation on race day. For tyre degeredation we assumed that all cars had full tank at start of the race and are losing 0.03kg of fuel every sector for all laps where their was green flag and then we calculated the lap times through this and plotted them. We learned from this analysis that the soft tyre was a better tyre than the hard as it was giving better lap times then it. But the hard tyre was also not like bad as it was giving similiar times to the soft tyres. We also did weather analysis of track temperature and air temperature as race went on and we found out that tyre temperature was decreasing this means that tyres were having more & more grip in the later parts of the race.ALso air temperature was decreasing as time goes on so that means the track was becoming more and more colder which means that tyres needed to be heated more so cars can get the grip.”

“We have Analysed Pit Stops and the Fastest Lap Times of the drivers in this section. The Avg pit stop times team did show us that ferarri took the least time in pitstops which is good this means their drivers get an advantage over other drivers due to taking less time in the pits. We can also see that mclaren took the most time in the pits. This means Mclaren drivers had the pressure to push more to regain any positions they lost due to Pit Stop this can lead into mistakes which is not good for the team. Also the fastest Lap Time was done by The Chinese Driver Ghanyou Zhou which helped him earning a point for his team as the fastest lap gets awarded 1 point at the end of every race. And we also see that due to car problems piastri had a fastest lap time that was very high than the other drivers and can't even be compared. I can't imagine how much pressure it would be on the rookie that he had to retire in his first race due to a mechanical failure in the car.”

Race Overtakes

ALO vs HAM

LAP 38

Here, We have Made three different type of analysis to understand how alonso caught up to Hamilton and overtook him. The First Analysis is Analysis Of Speed, Breaking and Cornering through the corner(Turn 10) and its nearby areas where Alonso Overtook Hamilton.

The Second Analysis is The Speed Telemetry Comparison Of Alonso and Hamilton through the same areas as mentioned above here we can see that Alonso was able to keep his foot down and gather more speed throughout the area he was 3.42km/hr faster than HAM in this area.

The Last Analysis shows us the full track layout and where Hamilton had more speed and where ALonso had more speed and we can see that mostly in all the corners Alonso was gaining on Hamilton showing how mercedes was struggling in the corners as in a straight line due to being the same power unit for both the cars the speed didnt mattered much but in the corners Alonso was destroying Hamilton.

Results

We got a little bit of understanding that why is Mercedes struggling and we got to see one of the best overtakes of the season as Turn 10 is not recommended for overtaking due to being very sharp but Alonso got his head down and was able to do it.
