Driver Race Pace Analysis

The First Analysis show us the Driver Race Pace for all the laps when the flag was Green(i.e Track Status was 1). The filter below it provides us the legend for drivers.

Here we plotted Drivers on the x-axis and Lap Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we made a box plot with the median of all Lap Times and Sorted it according to the Median.

We can see that DEV and TSU had the fastest Pace followed by Leclerc, and the worst race pace is shown by Magnussen and Russell.

Results

The second Analysis show us the fastest laps of all drivers and the gap and the positions are decided as the minimum lap time being on top and the least in the bottom.

GAS Gear Problem

The third Analysis show us the lap where Gasly stated to have some problem in his hydraulic system and the team asked him to limit the gear changes but issue became more problematic and gasly had to retire. We can clearly see in this track layout that how Gasly mentained third gear for half his lap. Before ultimately retiring.

Team Race Pace Comparison

The Fourth Analysis show us the Team Race Pace for all the laps when the flag was Green(i.e Track Status was 1). The filter below it provides us the legend for Teams.

Here we plotted Teams on the x-axis and Lap Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we made a box plot with the median of all Lap Times and Sorted it according to the Median.

Alpha Tuari had the fastest race pace followed by Ferarri. And the worst Race pace is shown by Alfa Romeo, and Haas Team.

Free Practice 1(Part 2)

Temperature Analysis

The First two Analysis show us the Track Temp and Air Temp Changes throughout the Race.

The Track Temp and Air Temp both gradually increased and then became constant and linear.

We can say that as the temperatures were increasing drivers might have been losing grip and the conditions would have been becoming tough.

Tyre Degredation

The second Analysis show us the tyre degredation as race went on. And as cars were not filled with full fuel it becomes difficult for us to get accurate tyre degredation but I have tried to provide a accurate analysis. We can see that soft tyre was faster than medium and hard later in the race and medium and hard had approximate similliar pace.

Weather Analysis

The last two analysis is for pressure and humidity throughout the race. Both of them mostly remained constant hence may have not affected the cars performances much but they are very important factors. If the humidity levels are high it can reduce oxygen amount in air leading to less power and performance by engine. Also due to moisture on track the grip levels can be affected. And if there is high pressure, tyres will lose presuure quickly affecting the car's grip.

Qualifying Sessions

The first Dashboard contains the race pace of drivers and teams in Q1,Q2 and Q3. And the tyre degredation in these sessions.

From All the visualizations we can conclude that RedBull Racing had the fastest race pace followed by Ferrari then Aston Martin, Mercedes, Mclaren.

The second Dashboard was showing the track and Air Temp change, Cumulative Delta time and track domination of LEC and VER in Q3 as they had laps with same time. So, I wanted to see understand where did both drivers dominated.

The Track Temp and Air Temp was gradually decreasing as time went meaning the drivers were having more grip at the end. I also showed LEC and VER track domiantion for the lap where they had the same laptime to see where were both of them dominating. And we also made the Cumulative Delta Time of fastest Q3 Laps of top 5 drivers in comparison of LEC who was the first in Qualifying.

Sprint Shootout

In the Center we Have the results of Sprint Shootout Sorted according to the positions with driver times, driver numbers and broadcast names.

We also have plotted the telemetry(Speed and RPM) for Leclerc crash in SQ3 at the right hand side. The Fun Part is that due to the crash the red flag was out and as it happened in last 2 minutes of the session so session was ended and the previous lap by Leclerc was so good that he still ended up having first grid position for the Sprint Race.

Also we showed the how track temperature and air temperature changed over time Air Temp got hotter first then got colder while the Track Temp was getting hotter meaning drivers would have been struggling to find grip as qualifying went on.

We also plotted the cumlative delta Time of the Top 5 finishers fastest laps of SQ3 with respect to LEC and saw where did the others lost time.

Sprint and Races

Sprint Analysis

Driver Pace Analysis

The First Analysis show us the Driver Race Pace for all the laps when the flag was Green(i.e Track Status was 1). The filter below it provides us the legend for drivers.

Here we plotted Drivers on the x-axis and Lap Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we made a box plot with the median of all Lap Times and Sorted it according to the Median.

We can see that Perez had the fastest race pace followed by Verstappen and then Russell. The worst race pace is shown by Hunlkenberg then Bottas and De vries.

Top Speed With and Without DRS

The second Analysis is showing the top speed of drivers with DRS and without DRS. The Red Values are with DRS and the Yellow ones's are without it. From here, we can see that Ocon reached the speed of 354 km/hr with DRS.

Position Changes Per Lap

The third Analysis is showing us how the position's changed as the race went on. And also it has a line where the Position Value goes to 0 (it is used to represent that the driver has retired due to any problem or crash).

Team Race Pace Comparison

The Third Analysis show us the Team Race Pace for all the laps when the flag was Green(i.e Track Status was 1). The filter below it provides us the legend for Teams.

Here we plotted Teams on the x-axis and Lap Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we made a box plot with the median of all Lap Times and Sorted it according to the Median.

Red Bull Racing had the Fastest Race Pace, then it was followed by the Ferarri. The worst Race Pace was shown by alfa Romeo and then alpha tauri.

Tyre Related Analysis

Weather Analysis

The First two analysis show us the how the track Temp and Air Temp Changed throughout the whole race.

The Air Temp and Track Temp both gradually decreased throughout the race.

Track Temp decreasing gradually means that as time went on the tyre grip was getting better leaving the part where track temp decreased suddenly.

Tyre Degeredation Analysis

The third analysis shows us the degeradation pattern of tyres as they go on being used how the lap times change. We can see here that the Medium Tyre was better than the soft but for most of the race Medium Tyre had been used .

Lap Time Evolution

The Fourth analysis shows us the avg. lap time evolution pattern of tyres as they go on being used how the lap times change. We can see here that the Medium Tyre was better than the soft and for most of the race Medium Tyre had been used .

Tyre Strategy Analysis

The Fifth Analysis show us the tyre strategies of all Drivers for the whole race. It shows us what strategies did the drivers thought to do. Did anyone make an undercut or an overcut pitstop. What all strategies are used and much more.

Here we plotted Drivers on the x-axis and Lap Number on the y-axis. And then we made a circlular discrete plot with colors as Compound so that when the compound is changed the color of circle is also changed.

We can see that mostly all the drivers opted for first medium compound only some opted for the soft tyres as the Sprint Race is half the Race Laps, So most dont need to pit and can work with Mediums..

Some other Analysis

Best Possible Time Per Compound

The First Analysis show us the Best Possible Time Per Compound Possible.

Here we plotted Compounds on the x-axis and Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we took the minimum time per compound for each sector and added them to get the best possible time on that compound.

We can see that the Medium Compound shows the Best possible time followed by Soft Tyres. We dont have data for Hards as nobody used hards in the sprint race.

Results

The second Analysis show us the Sprint Results Driver Name, Team Name in which position driver started and in which position driver finished and the total points they earned.

Fastest Lap Times Per Driver

The Third Analysis show us the fastest Lap Times Per Driver.

Here we plotted Drivers on the x-axis and Time in Seconds on the y-axis. And then we made the bar graph of all the fastest laps of each driver and colored it by Driver.

We can see that Perez had the fastest laps, then Leclerc. But they were not too far apart there was only three tenth's of a second difference between their lap times.
